python-setuptools-git software package provides plugin for setuptools that enables git integration, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-setuptools-git
python-setuptools-git is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-setuptools-git package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-setuptools-git *
You will get with python-setuptools-git package name, version, architecture and description in a table
